Luxury vehicle brand Acura is set to bring back its Integra nameplate next year as a new compact premium entrant.
The Honda Motor Co. brand confirmed the news in a brief statement released Friday. It did not provide further information, save for a note that said more details about the fourth-generation model will be provided closer to 2022.
“The Integra is back,” Acura Vice President Jon Ikeda said in the statement. “I’m thrilled to say Integra is returning to the Acura lineup with the same fun-to-drive spirit and DNA of the original, fulfilling our commitment to precision crafted performance in every way – design, performance and the overall driving experience.”
The Integra launched in March 1986 as one of two models in Acura’s original product lineup. It was discontinued in 2006.
