The Bugatti Bolide made its dynamic debut at Le Mans this weekend. It couldn’t have been a better occasion as it was the 100th anniversary of the world’s greatest 24-hour race.
The Bolide is Bugatti’s idea of a no holds barred endurance race car. It will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.17 seconds and will complete the 0-500-0 run in just 33.62 seconds. Bugatti has also run simulations at the Circuit de la Sarthe at Le Mans, completing a lap in just 3 min 07.1 seconds.
The production version of the Bolide is powered by the same 1600hp, 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 motor as the Chiron Super Sport. Thanks to a dry weight of just 1450 kg, this car has an insane power-to-weight ratio.
Only 40 examples of the Bugatti Bolide will be produced, each with a price tag of $4 million. The first deliveries of the Bolide are scheduled for 2024.
