Guess which supercar this hill climb monster is based on

SBR Chrono V8 is a car specifically built for hill climb racing. While it looks wild with its high downforce package, it’s based on an Audi R8 or, as they say, “very loosely based on an R8”. That’s probably the best way to describe it.

The car uses a carbon fibre tub with subframes attached to it. The front, as you can see, is just a massive air channel, essentially an open-wheeled racer with some bodywork on it. It even has an inboard suspension. The rear end looks almost like an R8, apart from the ginormous spoiler and diffuser.

SBR Chrono hill climb racer is powered by a mid-mounted, 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from a 1st-gen Audi RS6. It has been tuned to produce 750 hp and is paired with a Quaife 6-speed sequential gearbox that drives the rear axle. The car weighs just 940 kg, and as a result, acceleration is pretty brisk.
