The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla just won our 10Best award, but so too have two other fun-do-drive cars that wear similar badging: the GR86 and GR Supra. It’s remarkable that Toyota’s three most recent sporty cars have all been knockouts in their respective segments. That’s why each one is on our 10Best list, after all. But read between the lines and you’ll find something even more interesting.
The GR86 and GR Supra were made in partnership with other manufacturers: Subaru and BMW, respectively. The fact that the Supra’s new six-speed manual transmission feels even better than BMW’s version hints at Toyota’s expertise in creating a satisfying driving experience. The GR Corolla confirms it.
