All 500 build slots for the Polestar 6 LA Concept edition from Swedish electric performance car company Polestar were sold out within a week of their production announcement.
Polestar announced on August 16 that it was putting its Polestar 6 electric performance roadster concept into production, and marked the occasion with the announcement of 500 numbered units of a special ‘LA Concept’ version, the Polestar 6 LA Concept edition.
The production model is expected to launch in 2026. But the interest is so great that – despite the lack of final technical details and specifications the 500 units were quickly sold out.
“The high interest from our customers shows that a stunning electric roadster like Polestar 6 has high relevance in the sportscar arena,” said Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO.
“The open-top-plus-electric combination is clearly one that appeals to even the most die-hard petrolheads.”
The base specifications for the production Polestar 6 that we already know of include a bespoke bonded aluminium platform that will feature a high-performance 800-volt electric architecture – the same architecture already confirmed for the Polestar 5, which debuted last June.
The Polestar 6 will also feature power output of 650kW (884-horsepower) and 900Nm of torque from a dual-motor powertrain, a targeted acceleration of 0-100km/h in only 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 250km/h.
Polestar is targeting the launch of four new EVs within the next five years, starting with the Polestar 3, before the Polestar 4 electric performance SUV coupe is unveiled in 2023 and Polestar 5, an electric performance 4-door GT based on the Precept concept car, us unveiled in 2024.
