The Baleno Cross appears to have a coupe-like bodywork. It has a unique front fascia with split LED headlamps and a large grille with chrome inserts.

The Baleno Cross is expected to be based on the Heartect platform. Reports suggest that it could be powered by the BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine that was earlier offered in the Baleno RS. Maruti might also offer a hybrid powertrain.

The Maruti Baleno Cross could be launched in the Indian market sometime next year. It will be positioned above the Baleno hatchback.
